Zardari and Nawaz Shariff to seek impeachment of Musharraf

Zardari and Nawaz Sharif declared that they will proceed with impeachment of Pervez Musharraf on 17th of this month. There have been lot of discussions between the two coalition parties in the past few days. PPP Chairman Asif Ali Zardari arranged a joint press conference with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and said “We have good news for democracy. The coalition believes it is imperative to move for impeachment against General Musharraf”. The ruling coalition blames Musharraf for current economic problems of Pakistan. The coalition said that impeachment will be immediately followed by restoration of all deposed justices. Earlier Musharraf declared emergency and ousted supreme court justices. Zardari and Nawaz said that they will file a charge sheet against Musharraf. They expected stepping down of Musharraf as soon as his party lost in the general elections.
Meanwhile Musharraf canceled his visit to Beijing to attend opening ceremony of Olympic Games. As a result Yousuf Raza Gilani will travel to Beijing instead.
