Sehwag’s maiden test century against Sri Lanka helped India to post decent total on the first day of second test against Sri Lanka. He made a quick century with a score of 128 made of 122 balls and stayed not out for the day in a rain curtailed innings. In the morning he put on 167 runs for first wicket with Gambhir who made 56 runs. At one point Sri Lanka captured 4 wickets for 11 runs and reminded India of the dismal collapse in the first test. The senior Trio (Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly) seems to be still in the shadows of first test and failed to make any mark. They have made a total of 7 runs and Ganguly is out for duck. Laxman is not out on 13 at stumps.

For tomorrow, India’s score will directly depend on Sehwag’s performance as there is no recognized batsman after Laxman.
